Presenting the 2014 NZ International Comedy Festival

Posted by Kylie Sealy On the 4th March 2014 Back
We’re stoked to present an incredible line-up for the 2014 NZ International Comedy Festival in cahoots with Old Mout Cider, which will have you in stitches.

This year promises to be a celebration of comedy in all forms, with 325 performers, in 143 shows, at 50 venues across New Zealand, so get yourself out of the house and grab your mates for three weeks of 'funny as' good times!

The Comedy Festival is a landmark event on New Zealand's entertainment calendar, and we love seeing the country come alive with laughter throughout April & May. Our 2014 programme offers a refreshing selection of talented comedians from around the globe and our own backyard, all of whom will be focusing on ensuring there are plenty of laughs. We’re pleased to welcome lots of new faces to the city, so show them how great New Zealand audiences are. There’s plenty of great local talent to discover too, so get out there and support your own and watch them grow into stars.

We’re especially proud to feature a diverse range of comedy styles across the Festival, ensuring there is something for everyone to laugh at. From afternoon comedy for the kids; the Class Comedians & The 5pm Project for teenagers; through to a wide selection of evening performances; and ending with late night shenanigans at Late Laughs, you can fill your boots with Comedy. We’re also pleased to be partnering with Deaf Aotearoa and iSign again this year to offer Deaf friendly comedy performances during New Zealand Sign Language Week.

It’s awesome to welcome Old Mout Cider on board as our Gold Sponsor, as they’re all about supporting live comedy and ensuring our Festival audience has a great time.

My thanks goes out to our family of sponsors, funders, producers, suppliers and venues for their generous support, along with our immensely talented and hard-working Festival team.

And most importantly, a massive thank you to the comedians - your talent, passion and commitment ensures that the Festival gets better every year!
