2021 Fred Award Finalists
The NZ International Comedy Festival with Best Foods Mayo is excited to announce this year’s Fred Award Finalists! These awesome comedians will perform at Electric Kiwi Last Laughs in Auckland this Sunday night for the Fred, which recognises the best show by NZ performers in the 2021 NZ International Comedy Festival.
Named in honour of the late comedy icon John Clarke’s legendary Kiwi character Fred Dagg, The FRED Award was introduced in 2006 and recognises the Comedy Festival's Best Show by a New Zealand comedian. Previous winners have included Rose Matefeo, James Nokise, Chris Parker, and Rhys Darby.

So if you’re in Auckland, join us this Sunday 23 May at SKYCITY for the final hurrah of the Festival where awards will be awarded! Drinks will be drunk! Celebrations will be celebrated and laughs will be laughed.
Electric Kiwi Last Laughs is your last chance to see the finalists this Fest! This stellar showcase is hosted by the incomparable Michèle A’Court – one of Aotearoa’s most talented, hilarious and beloved MC’s. Featuring spots from all three FRED Finalists, David Correos, Two Hearts, and Eli Matthewson, along with our Billy T Nominees Brynley Stent, Lana Walters, James Mustapic and Josh Davies.
In a special guest performance, James Roque will also step up to the mic at Last Laughs, with a headlining set. Nominated for the Fred Award in 2019 with Boy Mestizo, this show has just been taped for a live special at Q Theatre.
Electric Kiwi Last Laughs is a celebration of the best of the best at the NZ Intl. Comedy Festival this year. Tickets are limited, so get in quick!
